Sustainability

Our approach

Our approach to sustainability is to complete a swot analysis to evaluate, measure and review each project from three important perspectives:

  • The impact on the people directly involved in the project
  • The impact on the community as a whole
  • The impact on the environment

Before starting/Project pre-assessment

We thoroughly evaluate each potential project before commencing on it.  We analyse the strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats of a project (SWOT). Finally, we examine the estimated costs and calculate a detailed budget.

This groundwork helps us to plan the best approach to setting up the project and allows us to identify any potential problems that we may need to overcome before detailed planning and fundraising can begin

Go Greener

Hopeful Futures is committed to protecting the environment, reducing waste, and increasing the efficient use of vital resources through our D>E>A>R program recycling unwanted clothes.  Our objective is to make it as easy as possible for Britain’s and Tanzanian’s to recycle their unwanted clothing. We want to make sure that clothing items do not end up in incinerators or landfills.   We recognize its importance for the well-being of current and future generations.  We aim to reduce the carbon footprint of the global textile industry.

Come and Join our D>E>A>R  Donate. Everything. And .Recycle initiative starting in Tanzania by sponsoring or hosting a bin

Reducing our involvement

Self-sufficiency is an important factor  to real  empowerment, it’s important to us that our beneficiaries do not stay dependent on Hopeful Futures Foundation in the long term. Our project plans always look at how and when an individual, family or school will be ready to move on without our active involvement. This structured removal of our involvement at the appropriate time enables beneficiaries to benefit from our involvement but also to eventually move forward independently

However, even once we are no longer actively involved we continue to monitor beneficiaries’ progress and remain available for support and guidance if needed.
